**The following post is the first in a series of posts detailing the information in my free download Connect With Your Baby A-Z! Place your hands on your beautiful belly, feel your baby, and just BE. Connecting and bonding with your baby can look a lot of different ways. For some women, the bond comes early; at the first sign of conception, or hearing the heartbeat for the first time. For some, it is a more gradual process and bonding occurs over time as your belly grows. For others it really isn't until you hold your newborn in your arms and can finally lay eyes on her, that you feel bonded. If you are feeling worried that you "should" be more connected with your baby, please be gentle with yourself. It will come. However you are feeling in your pregnancy today, here is one small thing you can do to strengthen the bond you already have, nurture a tender, growing bond, or perhaps take the first step in connecting with your child. ![]() Find a time and place that is free from distractions. (This may be difficult, especially if you have little ones running around. Don't forget, there is always the bathroom!). Take a few deep breaths and allow your mind to settle. Place your hands on your belly.... Breathe..... Be here for as long as you like...... Breathe.... Maybe you feel the baby moving.... Maybe you feel the baby kicking... Maybe you feel gassy. (Don't we all?!) Maybe you don't feel anything tangible, but you know he is in there. You might like to sit in silence, (this might be the quietest moment you get all day!) You might like to sing a little lullaby. You might like to talk to your baby. You might like to say a prayer. Sit here and breathe. Feel each breath as it enters your belly, connecting with your baby. This is it. Whatever you "do" you are making an intentional decision to connect. Your heart will open. Enjoy this moment. Just the two of you.
