The last days and weeks of pregnancy can feel like they take forever. Well-intended, but annoying, comments such as, "Haven't you had that baby yet?", "You look ready to pop!", "When are you due!?" and "Why don't you just induce?" can get very old very quickly. So how do you keep yourself busy when all you want to do is hold your new baby? Here are five things to do in Castle Rock to pass the time when you are nearing or have passed your estimated due date. ![]() 1. Take a Walk. Castle Rock as miles of trails and paths to walk. There is something for everyone no matter what your fitness level is. My favorites are: Plum Creek PS Miller Park Downtown ![]() 2. Have a picnic Daniels Park, located in Castle Pines, is a beautiful gem in the Castle Rock area. With sweeping views of the Front Range--Pikes Peak to Longs Peak-- you won't be disappointed. There are several easily accessible picnic tables, but to really appreciate the view, walk out to the rocks. Bring some camping chairs or a picnic blanket and watch the sunset. If you're lucky you might even catch a glimpse of the local bison heard. This is Colorado!! ![]() 3. Take in a Festival Fall is a great time to catch a local festival. People watching, strolling, eating yummy food are a great way to pass the time. Castle Pines Oktoberfest Colorado ArtFest at Castle Rock Farmers Market Starlighting ![]() 4. Go Swimming Castle Rock as two great rec centers for indoor swimming. Check out the new pool at the Miller Activity Complex (MAC). Don't be afraid to put on that swimming suit, you won't care how big you feel once you are floating in weightless bliss. ![]() 5. Paint Pottery Creating art is a fantastic way to prepare for labor, and we've got a fun little shop here in Castle Rock: Arts on Fire. Grab some girlfriends, your mom and sister, or just enjoy some quiet time by yourself. Let your right brain take over as you create a keepsake which represents your journey to parenthood. The last days of pregnancy are bittersweet. It won't be long before your baby is in your arms and you get to finally meet this little person you have been gotten to know so well. And yet, she won't be protected in your womb anymore. So enjoy these last days and be in the moment. They are fleeting!
