![]() Dear Friends, As 2015 dawns, I've been thinking about you all. Some of you are newly pregnant and perhaps feeling overwhelmed with the plethora of information at your fingertips. Others of you are well into your pregnancy preparing to step into the labyrinth of labor. Others of you are initiated mothers trying to make sense of your new role in this world. I am here to walk with you and encourage you on your way, wherever that may be. Stop by here each week for some extra encouragement. You will find something here to nourish your mind; a thought-provoking article or two to read and provide you with information for your journey. You'll also find some nourishment for your body; maybe a yummy recipe, or a tip or two for moving in a healthy, refreshing way. And finally, you'll get a bit of nourishment for your soul, the heart stuff; a mindfulness practice which will benefit you before, during and after labor. Nourishment for your Mind: Download this fantastic resource for Laid-Back nursing. AKA biological nurturing. If you are new to breastfeeding or learning about your options, this is a must read! It is intuitive and uncomplicated. Nourishment for your Body: Take a walk. That's it. Nothing fancy, just get outside and walk. It doesn't have to be long, in fact, you'll experience many benefits in just 5 minutes. So, put on your shoes (and coat, hat, scarf and mittens here in Colorado!), grab your kids, partner, dog etc., (or go solo), and get movin'! Nourishment for your Soul: I love this article about walking meditation. Combine this meditation with your daily walk and you'll be feeding both your body and your soul. Good for mom, good for baby, good for family! As the new year get's underway, take a moment away from the frenzy of resolutions to appreciate what you have and what you've been given. May 2015 be filled with blessings and many nourishing moments! Warmly, Meggan
